Chuck, at his leisure, has been able to keep swimming outdoors, rain or shine,  for almost  20+ years now!

Every once in a while he gets an urge to dip into the wild but crystal clear water of the West Pacific coast, like (in the picture to the right ) at the bottom of the Chinghsui Cliff.

Or,  recently for example, he swam in a glacially fed Moraine Lake in the Canadian Rockies,  at an elevation of 1883 m, when the summer water temperature was 3 degree Celsius. In the picture at the right, he can be seen as a dot  at the edge of that blue water at 7 O'clock direction from the picture center. The blue shade of the water is due to the refraction of light off the fine glacial rock flour.
