As compare to most local IP houses, they do not have qualified IP professional translators in house, we believe in that a Patent Attorney should be responsible for the technical and legal content of the local application he is entrusted with by his clients. Only so the local application can mirror the true content of the original case. This is the minimal quality standard that this office is insisting. In this part of the world, there are patent lawyers, they do not really care about the ten fold differences of mm to cm (e.g. in 469958TW).  We do not blame them. Because system of units like CGS, using cm, which goes back to a proposal made in 1832 by the German mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss and the modern SI system, using mm, are still co-existing in the modern Technology. In addition, Chinese words for mm are 厘米 (pronounced, Li-mi), Chinese words for mm are 公釐 (pronounced Gon-Li). They are confusions to a lot of people. But this kind of errors are not at all allowed in IP matters. And, we all know that a translator is not necessarily a translator! Some of them studied English literature from a "famous" University, far, far away from England. They studied Macbeth, Shakespeare, etc., and they become translators eventually. The only advantages of them are that they do not ask much for their work. What a pity! But, their work does not worth much either.

All of our in house translators have, on the other hand, overseas' experience, formal advanced educations in Biomedical and/or biological and/or engineering fields in USA, Canada and/or Germany. They typically worked in an IP house for 1 to several years. Some of them are patent attorneys themselves. We do quality translations from English and German to Traditional Chinese, which is classic Chinese and the only official language of Taiwan. We do quality translations from Chinese (either simplified or traditional) into English and German for our clients.
